As per [livejournal.com profile] jadedgyrl23's request:

I don't know how to post pictures, so the best I can do is give you this link.

It all started when I realized I was slowly adding blankets. Then one by one, I closed my windows. Now, due to drastically cooler temperatures, the sad verdict has been returned:

It is time to start wearing pajamas to bed.

I really wish I wouldn't have dreams about my ex-boyfriend's kids. Granted, I missed them far more than I missed him. But I mean, come on, its been two and a half years since the breakup- even though I ran into them in most bizarre of ways last Christmas-ish. But why, oh why are they lingering in my subconscious?

Today I drove to Indiana with my mom to check out a couple of places she is thinking of moving to when she retires next year. One is in Goshen, and is a community sponsorted by the Mennonites, and the other is in North Manchester, sponsored by the Church of the Brethren. I think she is going to end up in Goshen. Although she knows more Brethren, and has a very close friend who will probably also end up in North Manchester, the two of us agree that the Goshen community is nicer, and it has less restrictions- the least of which being that they allow cats, so she can bring Princess Anastasia with her. All we need now is the final vote of [livejournal.com profile] pheret1. After we took the tour of the two places, and headed back up through Goshen to double check the first place, we ended up at a nice Amish restaurant (gee, an Amish restaurant in Northern Indiana? You don't say!) for dinner. 'Twas good- I couldn't finish my pie, but now four hours later I find myself able to polish it off so it didn't go bad in the fridge. I know, what a self-sacrifice.

Its odd to think of our family being more than twenty minutes away from each other. Except for the time I was in school in MN, none of us four has ever lived more than about a twenty minute drive from each other, and now we're within three blocks. But it appears to be time. The only one I worry about is my dad. I think he's really used to having someone around, and even though my parents split about four and a half years ago, they're still good friends. Its going to make family holidays weird, that's for sure- especially once my sister and I are at the point where we're married or something and have other families to have responsibilities to. But... change is good, right?

Actually, I am really excited for her. Its a really nice community, and she can probably even get a job as an adjunct faculty member at Goshen College.

I have a feeling the next year and a half or so is going to get very interesting.
