Oh, by the way. Its snowing.

No, no, that's not quite accurate.

Its SNOWING.

What I don't understand is how the roads weren't being plowed or salted. Its not like this snowstorm crept up on us or anything. The way things looked on my way home from teaching, you would never have thought this had been forecast for at least twenty four hours. The Department of Transportation for each municipality I had to drive through seemed totally unprepared. One would have thought this is the scenario that played itself out this afternoon:

Snowstorm: (sneaks up behind DOT guy in padded socks. Taps him on the shoulder. Smiles and waves enthusiastically.)

DOT guy: (turns around, sees Snowstorm) AUUUUUUUGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! (spills hot coffee all over his pants)

Instead, I have a feeling this is how it really happened (I feel like I'm watching Clue):

Snowstorm: (Dances around in front of DOT guys. For at least six hours. Jazz, ballet and tap. Does a top-hat-and-tail number. Does an Ethel Merman tune.)Hello my baby, hello my darlin', hello my ragtime gaaaaaaaaaaaallll!!!!!!

DOT guy #1: (reading the newspaper) Want another donut?

DOT guy #2:(doing a word search) Sure.


Luckily my last two students opted not to try to make it so I was able to leave an hour earlier than usual. At the end of the day, the car and I are happy to be home.

I'm sick of the snow. I'm sick of driving in the snow. Perhaps foxmagic is looking for a roomate?


Random thought: HUGE congratulations have to go out to legendofthehawk and evilhat who have recently become engaged. Not to each other. To their respective prospectives (hehe I'm so clever). Tonight I noticed a sign outside of a jewelry store advertising a 50% off engagement ring sale.
