Here's some details, because I'm not sure if I'll be able to get ahold of people in a timely manner today:

If you are joining us for the Lincoln Park Zoo Lights tomorrow evening (Sunday), I figure we meet around five-ish to five-thirty-ish. At this time, I'm planning on parking at [livejournal.com profile] pinkfluffyjumpr and [livejournal.com profile] hellfaerie's place and taking a bus (yay CTA Trip Planner!) or two instead of paying a zillion dollars to park near the zoo.

I've specifically talked about this with several people, but this invite is open to any of my LJ friends in the Chicago area who would like to meet us at the Zoo. If you're interested in going, let me know so I know to look for you at the entrance!

Oh yeah- admission to the zoo is free. I figure maybe we'll look for someplace to eat after we're all thoroughly frozen and have seen our fill of aminals and lights.

Who's in?

i work noon to nine tomorrow so unless y'all are eating for a LONG time afterwards, I dunt think I'll be able to make it but just know in your heart of hearts that i want more than anything in this wicked, wicked world to be there next to y'all taunting the animals into a nearly frenzious state of rage, biting and foaming about the mouth in primal fashion. their hoots and howls will be a cacophony of cries from their forgotten ancestors, beckoning back to a time when they may have roamed the plains in their pack, free from the imprisonment and humiliation that comprises their existance in this modern day and age.

and i like the cows, too.

Give my compliments to your brother- the lights were beautiful! Even though, like, 2/3 of the zoo was closed off.....

Checking up on my LJ buds!

I've been neglecting you lately.

Here is my Kolacky Recipe: There are 4 secrets

-The thinner you can roll the dough, the crispier and better the cookie.
-Don't overdo it with the preserves
-Chill the dough in the refrig before rolling the dough, or it will be too sticky to cut into circles.
-If you accinentally burn any, give them to co-workers or people you dislike. Save the good ones for friends and family

1 stick butter
1 bar cream cheese
2-1/4 cup flour
2 ts baking powder
3 T sugae
1/2 ts salt

Pir filling: we usually use cherry, apricot, and plum. But I have tried apple before.

Mix butter, cream cheese, sugar salt until blended smoothly.

sift flour, and baking powder. slowly mix into wet ingredients.

when evenly mixed, cover and put in refrigerator.

when firm, place a portion of dough in between wax paper sheets, and try to roll it as thin as you comfortably can. The thinner you get the better it will be, and the more cookies you can make.

Cut into circles with cookie cutter. Place on baking heet.

Place a dolip of preserves in the middle of each cookie. Cook until the edges of the cookies get slightly toasted. I'm unsure of the temp, but I think about 375 or so. You get alot of leway as long as you watch them.

They are the best. I need to bake some for x-mas.
