violachicI had the extreme pleasure of lunching with Felicity and her SuperKid Michael today. I just can't believe that kid is turning NINE in October. He is so damned CUTE! So freaking smart, too. Its kinda scary how smart he is. Charmed the socks off of the waitstaff and management staff at Houlihans. He even gave me a gift. Probably one of the things I'll treasure the most for the rest of my life. When a kid deems you worthy to give you something that is important to them, its a huge compliment. So my gift? One of his Hot Wheels. To be precise, a Shadow Mk IIa. White car with an enormous red spoiler. To him, its not really a car if it doesn't have a spoiler. I feel like crying. What an amazing kid. But his mommy has certainly raised him right. I think I'll take that car with me to BVS. The perfect homesickness-deterrent. That and a ton of pictures that he draws.
So I've begun the Brethren Volunteer Service application process. Today I obtained transcript release forms from both College of DuPage and stolaf. I'm a little worried about the whole college transcript deal. It wasn't the most shining period in my life. But that's life, I guess. So I got that, I filled out most of the basic info part, and I started in on the SEVEN ESSAY QUESTIONS. This is way more daunting than any college or employment application I've ever seen. But I guess they need to know who's really serious and who's really up to it all. I'm going to need six references, and I've got four. I just need to track down two of my profs from last fall and see if they liked me enough to be my Educational References. Problem is, COD is between quarters, which means they all just left after summer quarter, and fall quarter doesn't start for another month. Urrrrrrrrrrrrrr.............
I'm really excited. I'm really intimidated. I'm really scared. I'M REALLY EXCITED!
