We remember you being teeny and
black and new, sitting in the palm
of Sunday's hand, standing on his head.
We remember you being there when we
rang the doorbell, sitting on the
counter with your tail swishing.
We remember you as Hella Kitty, the
world's largest yet gentlest companion
a girl could ever want.
We remember you as a friend, a pet,
a caretaker, a watchcat who won every
Kitty Olympics he entered in the middle of the night.
We will miss you, and mourn you,
and try to take good care of your human
for you, because we kinda like her, too.
Good kitty!
