Oct. 2nd, 2003 04:26 pmSo yesterday I was at the high school for lessons after school. Between students I had my door propped open, and past it waltzes the orchestra director. She says hey, I'm really glad you're still teaching here, do you have any openings? I try to play it cool, and I reply, yes, I think I do have a few openings. She says good, I have a ton of students who need a teacher because their teacher moved to South Carolina. I smile and say great, but inside I am whooping it up like crazy. So a couple of students later, the kid says, my teacher (at a different school) wants to know if you have any room for new students. And I say yes, I certainly do, but inside there's a party in my head and everyone's invited.
Now, under other circumstances, I'd be worried about taking new students, and then having to leave them only a few months later, but right now I'm so freaking broke, I don't really care. Also, I can work on getting them into new teachers over winter break, so I have awhile. Besides, it will be good for me to have an established studio when I leave, so I have plenty of references for when I get back.
Yay!
In other news, my tummy isn't so happy. Bleurgh.
