HMMMMPH

Okay. Most of what I want to say is at least upbeat, if not happy. But there is one thing bringin' me down, and I gotta let it off my chest first. I have not found a home for Sergei, and if I don't either find him a home or take him to a shelter tomorrow, dad will "take care of it" for me. I am ultimatly pissed off. Dad has an idea in his head, and he's talked himself into the fact that Sergei is a hazard around the house, when in fact he's not. Better to get rid of "Boomer the pee-factory" (thanks for the nickname, Libs!) cuz he sure does more damage than any damned cat. So I give you all one last chance to speak up if you want a really really kick ass cat. Otherwise, within a week he could be dead. The no-kill animal shelter is full. It makes me very sad.

But on a few lighter notes: I had a REALLY good time at the beach yesterday. I didn't get to go camping this year :-( but at least I could meet everybody at the dunes on Sunday afternoon. I am amazed at and thoroughly pleased with the fact that, even though I used no sunscreen whatsoever, I DIDN'T GET BURNED! Yay for base tans! Of livejournal fare, we had with us [livejournal.com profile] pheret1, [livejournal.com profile] the_seventh, [livejournal.com profile] legendofthehawk, [livejournal.com profile] unhappymeal and the mysterious [livejournal.com profile] masgoose. Of non-lj folks, Vince, Brooke, Poptart, Sunday, Karen, Felicity and Chuck also graced us with their presence. Except Felicity and Chuck had to leave before I got there because Chuck was too hung over :( So, so sad. But spending a lazy day and dinner at BW3's with neato people is always a nice way to pass the time.

Many MANY thanks to sweet [livejournal.com profile] divalibby76 for making me some icons to choose from :-) I'm SOOOO excited to have one! I think its pretty, too! Except then I had to change the colors of my journal to match the brownish color better.

Went shopping at Oak Brook Mall tonight with my darling sis. I was on a mission to find air-mail stationery to give to my friend Meghan from church, who is going to spend the fall semester studying in Kenya. I hope she uses it to write to me. It sounds like an incredible experience. I was also tickled four shades of pink to purchase three new bandanas and a sheet full of hippie stickers. I bought Marta a couple of bars of soap from Bath and Body Works. I'm not really that generous of a sister, I was just replacing what I used when she was out of town.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETHY! Today is Beth's 25th birthday. I really hope all of you who know her will join us Thursday night at Sal's for her birthday party. I know it would mean a lot to her to have y'all there. We're starting with dinner at Houlihans (yeah, you know where it is...) around 8-ish and then proceeding to the dive-bar/karaoke lounge for some drunken, out of tune crooning. She really wants to end up someplace after Sal's, but I think she forgot that some people have to get up early the next day. I will probably take her to Omega, and those of you who can may follow. Oh yeah- apparently the health department has been out our way, because both local Denny's have been closed down.... hehehe...

So....anyway...
