I had the pleasure of watching a live version of the song (not CDB) at the WPG Folk Festival. It was amazing. On a workshop stage, a couple of bands, lead fiddler from each, one was the Devil, one was Johnny. It was some of the most amazing fiddling I have ever heard, between the two of them. In the end, the devil won with a slip jig that had the audience dancing, and both back up bands swinging. It was great.
